What is N-acetyl Semax Amidate (Semax)?

N-Acetyl Semax Amidate is a modified version of the neuropeptide Semax, developed to improve stability and biological activity. Originally created in Russia, Semax has been studied for decades for its cognitive-enhancing and neuroprotective properties. The modifications in N-acetyl semax amidate extend its half-life and increase resistance to enzymatic breakdown, but the overall physiologic properties of semax have been shown to be retained.

How Does Semax Work?

Semax increases the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a protein essential for learning, memory, and neural repair. It also modulates dopamine and serotonin pathways, supporting focus, mood, and mental clarity.

In neurological injury models, Semax has demonstrated protective effects against ischemic damage and inflammation.

Side Effects of Semax

Semax has demonstrated a strong safety profile with minimal side effects. Mild headache or nasal irritation (when used intranasally) has been reported. Hormonal disruption has not been observed.
